Bible English

THEE & YE

These are special personal pronouns. They are second person pronouns. Today we use the word YOU. Today YOU can mean 1 person or more than one person.

Remember it like this: if this type of word starts with a “T” it always means ONE & only ONE person. If this type of word starts with a “Y” it always means Two or more people. Therefore YOU in the King James Bible ALWAYS means more than one person! Simple!

You can see the power of this in:

[KJV] [John 3:7]  Marvel not that I said unto thee (one person - Nicodemus) , Ye (all people - us) must be born again.
So we see that being born again does not apply JUST to one person but to all of us.
