Missing Again

Missing Again

It’s time to look at another Verse Section missing in action.

This verse section has been left out by some modern translations. Apart from, what seems like, endless changes to words and omission of words there are several verses that are completely removed from modern Bible versions. I should say modern versions of the Bible because they certainly are not the Bible.

Prayer with Fasting 2

Prayer with Fasting 2

[KJV] [MAT 17:21] Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting

This is one of the verses that the niv in its “wisdom” has removed from the book it calls a bible.

Let’s take a few moments to look at an aspect of this wonderful verse.

Prayer with fasting is a powerful weapon – part of our amour that the Lord Jesus has equipped us with.

There are several types of prayer & several types of fasting. Fasting can be done in its own right and can be combined with prayer – just like prayer can be combined with or without fasting.

To start with let’s look at 2 simple types of biblical fasting.

What have the New International Version & the New World Translation got in common?

What have the New International Version & the New World Translation got in common?

The same 15 verses are missing from both versions

Quoted from Which Bible is God’s Word G. Riplinger P116

YES THE New International Version & THE New World Translation HAVE OMITTED THE SAME 15 VERSES FROM THE New Testament! The New World Translation is the book that the Jehovah Witnesses use. Continue reading »

As Time Goes By

As Time Goes By

Some of you have told me that you have noticed how fast the time is going by! Don’t let this rattle you. We have our vision & mission. It’s a good one right from heaven. Don’t get impatient stay focussed. Keep the little habits & spiritual exercises going. We are walking in faith. We are running to that prise.

What are we doing?

In our own spiritual lives:

1. We thank the Lord Jesus for all the many blessing – we keep rejoicing

2. We keep the “tongues” going. We pray for each other. We pray for the rulers of the world. We pray for those who are hounded for their faith.

3. We keep the 1 2 3 GO going every day. We are going to be so familiar with the King James Bible that we will wonder how we read or trusted anything else

4. We keep doing the “way of the master” at every opportunity

5. We keep turning up on time – fit and happy in Jesus Christ – we get the most of every meeting

6. We keep doing those things small & big that we have set ourselves to do in his service.

Anyone can quit. Anyone can fail to see that perseverance wins the day. Anyone can just give up. Anyone can withdraw because it just seems so hoard and useless. Anyone can think that they are just not appreciated. BUT dear friends, we are NOT just anyone. We our sons of God with pure hearts stirred faith and spirits that are refreshed by the very river that flows form under the throne of God the highest.

We will see the reward & we will enjoy the harvest is we faint not & we are not going to faint!

So You Don’t Read Well!

So you don’t read well. Never fear. Lots of mature adults don’t read very well. As my youngest daughter would say “It’s no biggie”. Once you leave primary school & you can’t read you learn to wing it. Mind you in our country Australia they are so stirred about Occupational Health & Safety that all procedures must be in writing and yet most can’t read them. We even have what is Plain English – whatever that is. What country likes to admit that many of its adult population are illiterate? Fear NO MORE. Our champion King James the I & VI wanted a plain bible that could teach his kingdom to read for themselves. A bible, a copy of scriptures, without side notes and written in such a way that would teach people to read.  Continue reading »

Why 40 Days?

Why should I keep a set going for 40 days?

A Quiet Time study set is 5 or 10 verses long. This is our set for PRAY READ LOOK. We want to keep this 5 or 10 verse at a time SET going for a 40 day period. The 40 days needs to be continuous. You may take one day off each week – say Sunday – BUT you need a 40 day run using the same number of verses that you use for a set. If you do more than one set in a day that is more than one full set of Pray, Read and Look, then this does not reduce the 40 days. This is NOT 40 sets it IS 40 days.    Continue reading »

10 verses are not enough

10 Verses are not enough!

Several of my friends and brethren have complained to me that having a 10 verse set is not enough for their daily quiet time. Their solution has been to do the PRAY READ LOOK starting with the book of Genesis and then diving into somewhere else within the King James Bible to catch up on their more sophisticated reading plan. THIS IS NOT A GOOD IDEA   Continue reading »

Steps 1 2 3 aloud

Steps 1 2 3 aloud

Why should you follow this plan by reading your portion scriptures out aloud?

The word of God is exactly that “the word of God” God spoke his word. Now we have the word of God written down in what is called the King James Bible. We read it and under this plan we read a set number of verses say 10 verses in each set. The plan we follow here is Pray Read and Look.

What is the advantage of reading this out aloud? Well we are told to read the Bible out aloud.   Continue reading »

Why 40 days on 123 Go

This is a good question. We set our daily bible reading for the King James Bible at a set number of verses. In this case let’s say 10 verses. OK

  1. Pray
  2. Read
  3. Look

Why do we set this? Well we get used to just glossing over what we read especially the Word of God.  Continue reading »

1 2 3 the way 2 go

1 2 3 the way 2 go

Why am I so passionate about this? What is it anyway? 123 the way 2 go is all about our “quiet time” or pour daily bible reading in particular. The method is simple.

  1. PRAY – Pray & ask the Lord Jesus to BLESS the Word of God that you are about to read – follow this pattern. Decide on the number of verses per set – say 10 (or 5) verses. Why so few? I’ll explain at the end.
  2. READ – Read the number of verses (say 10) – read them straight through – read them aloud if you like. Don’t worry is you can’t pronounce the words or know what they mean. We are talking King James Bible here.
  3. LOOK – Look at the verses you have just read. If you have a DEFINED King James Bible look for the words in bold and check the definitions at the foot of the page. If you have references to other parts of the bible then cheque them out briefly. Look over the words – get the meanings – use a Webster’s 1828 dictionary if you have own OR an early Oxford. These are available on line.

You’ll do better with Webster’s because its old English.
Send some time looking at & into the verses that you have just read. You are looking for the meaning of the English. We need the meanings of the concepts of the words in English. At this stage you are not looking for spiritual insight just what the English words & verses mean. This is a reading of discovery.

Why follow this pattern. Continue reading »
